5-12-10

Not too much new information. I am still feeling great, still have hair. I wore my wig around a little today to get the kids used to it, and me too. But Scot doesn't want to see it until he has to. I think it really looks good. Michelle did such a good job cutting my hair to match, I think the only difference will be the darker color. Tomorrow afternoon I go for my weigh in and blood test. Hopefully that will be good news.

I have walked almost every day for an hour the last week, with my Mom. It has been really nice and the dogs are getting better on the lead, which makes the experience more enjoyable. I also got my Yoga for Breast Cancer Survivors video in the mail today. Hopefully, I will have time tomorrow to give that a spin. Maybe I can get my Mom hooked on yoga too before she heads back home.

We ramped up our Netflix to two at a time with no limit. But I still can't find the time to sit for 2 hours and watch a movie. I had hoped to be getting more scrapbooking done too, not so far! I have found time to visit with friends over lunch and at the park. I have also been reading, which reminds me, someone sent me Good Housekeeping magazine. It is WONDERFUL! I read it cover to cover (seriously). I got the second one a week later, and I thought really, every week, how will I ever get anything done. Then I looked more closely and saw that it as a monthly publication, and thought, how can I wait a month! Whoever sent me that, THANK YOU!!! I think it has already become a necessity for me. Their website has come in handy as I try to figure out which food, household and cosmetic products are toxic. I am determined to provide myself and my family a safer, less toxic environment. There was also an article about a woman learning of a cancer diagnosis and seeing the sunnyside of it by refocusing and changing her priorities. The woman's outlook seemed much like mine, which was reassuring.

I hope to be able to watch Meghan and Braden participate in their CRE Fun Runs tomorrow, depending on what time they run. They both always do so well with long distance running. I get so proud watching them run the entire thing, without walking. Then Friday is Field Day and I hope to be able to witness some of that fun and snap a few pictures. It will be great for my Mom to get to see all that this year too.

One thing I will miss is Meghan's first Girl Scout Camp Out. She will leave Friday evening and return Sunday afternoon. Originally, I had planned on attending, but not knowing how I would tolerate the chemo, I had to back out. A friend and neighbor, whose daughter is in Meg's troop is going in my place, which gives me piece of mind. She also has two fabulous Troop Leaders to help look after her. I know Meghan will have a wonderful time, I am just sorry to miss it.

Until next time.
