May 2, 2010

I have just about finished my third day on chemo. I feel much better and have not gotten sick since early yesterday afternoon. I have found that mini bagels with cream cheese sit well. I also had some organic chicken noodle soup last night too.

Yesterday and early this morning I caught up on a lot of TV I had waiting for me on my digital recorder. I have been up since 3 AM. I guess that is what 2-3 hour long naps during the day will do to you.

I am hoping to be more active today and I am looking forward to a visit from my Father-in-Law who is in town for a conference. Scot and the kids got to meet Grandpa at Iguana Grill and play a round of putt-putt yesterday. Today Deda and our neighbor Pedro are taking the kids to an air show in Temple Texas. Braden is especially excited to see all the WWII planes.

My short term goal is to be able to take Meghan to soccer practice on Monday and walk around the park with my Soccer Mom friends. If things continue to progress, I think I should be up for it! Now if I could just get my yoga video I ordered, I could get that side of my fitness plan going.

I am so happy to have my whole family around me this weekend. It's nice to have Scot and the kids around. My Dad has been helping out with the yard work and changing light bulbs and taking out the garbage. My Mom and Scot have been tending to my every need. I am SO lucky to have the best possible care-takers. My Mom and I even had a chance to watch an old movie together.

  1. It's great to read that you haven't felt too terrible and have lots of support. Meghan asked to eat lunch with me on Thursday and I was very happy to do so. She was anxious to see how you would be doing. I had Mrs. McGahey keep an eye on her on Friday since I wasn't sure how Thursday was going to be for you all. I hated not being there in case it was a tough afternoon. She said Meghan was fine. I can't wait to see your new hairdo! Sounds wonderfully cute!

  2. Melanie, you are doing so well. Hope you do get to go to soccer but please don't be discouraged if you can't. Hope your yoga video comes soon. Keep up the great attitude. We love you. Aunt Nancy and Uncle Terry
