May 13, 2010

Today was another checkup. This week did not go as well as last. As they expected, my white blood cell counts were low, but I got the impression they were lower than they had hoped (1.8 WBC and .2 Neutrophil). I got an open prescription for an antibiotic if anything should suddenly pop up. I'd really like to get through this week without any issues. I don't think the kids will be happy when I insist they shower off when they come home from school, but better safe than sorry. It is a good thing I didn't push myself to do the Girl Scout Camp Out. They also suggested that I not eat any raw vegetables or fruits that can't be peeled, until my wbcs come up. As much as I love my fruits and veggies, salads especially, I am going to do everything they ask me to do. I plan to be an A+ patient. They expect my counts will be up next week when I come back for my second AC treatment, then back down again in the second week.

My weight was good, half a pound less than last week. The half pound gave me permission to stop on the way home at Sonic and get a mocha java chiller, something I have never tried due to the calorie content. It was YUMMY!

My Mom and I walked up to the school twice today to watch the kids run by as they participated in their grade level Fun Run events. They both did amazingly well as usual. Braden went back out two additional times for a total of 3 miles. Meghan went out an extra time for two miles. I am so proud of my active, healthy kiddos. I took still photos and I had my Mom on video camera duty. It's a good thing Braden ran additional laps, because the first time Brady ran by, my Mom was video taping herself. She had the camera pointed in the wrong direction. I wanted to post the video of her thinking she was videoing Braden, but she wouldn't let me. When she and I realized what she had done, we both had a good hard belly laugh watching it. Mom and I also did our one hour walk on top of that in between the two runs. The dogs were not happy that we left them at home today. I hope they don't resort back to their bad habits due to the day off.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I resolved the conditioner dilemma. I stopped by an Aveda salon and picked up a travel size. HORRAY!
